Claudia is 1 1/2 years old.  She came to us in the spring of 2005.  Claudia doesn't health issues, however, she has behavioral issues.  Claudia and Lestat (her cagemate) were rescued out of a petstore.  The volunteer walked into the store one day to see what they had there and spotted Claudia and Lestat.  She asked the store owner if she could hold them and when the store owner got them out of the cage, they latched on to the volunteer. It was a pretty bad bite.  The store owner grabbed Claudia and smacked her in the face with an open hand.  She claimed that it was the way to stop them from biting.  The volunteer just couldn't leave these guys in that type of environment, so she purchased them and brought them to the shelter.  When these two came in, you couldn't touch them, they were terrified of your hands.  It took alot of work and alot of time to gain the trust of these two sweeties. They still have days when they love to latch on the first available piece of skin, so we decided for their safety, we should keep them here.
